The Hai An weekly email mentioned this one man play was coming to Saint Josephs college tonight - and I managed to make. This was AMAZING! I had my doubts about how entertaining a one man play could be, but it I was very surprised. Picture the most dynamic speaker you have ever seen, but talking about the dharma from the perspective of the historical Buddha. Evan Brenner is doing an absolutely wonderful thing for the dharma and Buddhists everywhere in his performance.
I’d recommend it for everyone, no matter if they practice or not. It was a performance that left you thinking ~ I really need to practice more. It was inspiring.
The best part is that there is a 2nd show in New Haven coming up on Friday, June 26th at the long wharf theater.
Information on the play can be found here - TheBuddhaPlay.com
Tickets for New Haven can be found here - BrownPaperTickets.com
The Hartford show did sell out, so I would recommend purchasing soon if you want.

Our food drive will last throughout the holidays. The need for the services provided by local soup kitchens and shelters is greater than ever, as pointed out in a recent article in the Hartford Courant.
Please bring your donations of nonperishable food items and toiletries to the temple. Out donations will be brought to the Friendship Center in New Britain after the holidays. If you have further questions please contact us.
I just looked in the storage closet in the temple, it is filling up with donations; thanks for all who have contributed so far.
